Town of Lloyd man steals property and flees from police

PRESS RELEASE

 

09/04/15 – The New York State Police – Highland BCI announce the arrest of 19 year old, Kyle Velders, of Highland, NY, for the class A misdemeanors of Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Assault in the Third Degree.

Kyle Velders did recklessly cause non-life threatening injuries to a Town of Plattekill man who fell from a vehicle being driven Velders as Velders was attempting to flee after stealing property from the victim.  Velders was later located in the Town of Lloyd and subsequently fled on foot from police.  While being placed in custody Velders did physically resist arrest and was ultimately found to possess a small quantity of heroin upon his person. The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges against Velders are pending.

Velders was arraigned before Judge Murphy in the Town of Plattekill Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail on $1,000 cash / $2,500 bond. Velders is due to return to the Town of Lloyd Court on 09/15/15 at 4pm.
