Albertson woman arrested for prison contraband

On 08/24/15, The New York State Police reports the arrest of KAREN DIAZ , age 25, from Albertson, NY for the charges Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd Degree, a classA misdemeanor and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
New York State Police and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision – Office of Special Investigations found that while visiting an inmate inside the Coxsackie Correctional Facility, DIAZ was found in possession of marijuana in which she subsequently passed to the inmate she was visiting.
DIAZ was arrested at SP Coxsackie and arraigned in the Town of Coxsackie Town Court before Hon. Thomas Fori who remanded DIAZ to the Greene County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1000 secured bond. To re-appear in the Town of Coxsackie Town Court on October 19, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
