Pleasant Valley man arrested following department of labor investigation

PRESS RELEASE

LaGrange, New York – On August 24, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 35-year-old Ryan M. Urbin, of Pleasant Valley, New York, for Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, and Falsifying Business Records 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division and the New York State Police.

Urbin, a former LaGrange resident, is accused of unlawfully collected over $4,500 worth of unemployment insurance benefits between June of 2011 and December of 2012.

Urbin was arraigned before the Town of LaGrange Court and released on his own recognizance.  He is scheduled to return to the Town of LaGrange Court on September 1, 2015.
