Fishkill, New York – On August 20, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Jill Governale, 51 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, a Class E Felony.

Governale was stopped by police in the area of Route 9 and Interstate 84 for moving from her lane unsafely.  While Troopers interviewed Governale, they observed clues that indicated she was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Governale was charged with Aggravated DWI for having a passenger under the age of 16 in her vehicle at the time of the stop.

Governale supplied police with a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.  She was arraigned before the Town of Fishkill Court and released.  Governale is due to appear in Fishkill Court on September 16, 2015.
