MULTI-AGENCY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARRESTS OF ALLEGED DRUG DEALERS

IN GREENE COUNTY

On August 12, 2015, a joint investigation conducted by The Greene County District Attorney’s Office, The New York State Police, The Greene County Sheriff’s Dept., The Village of Catskill Police Dept. and the Greene County Probation Dept. resulted in the indictments of two subjects for drugs sales in Greene County. The investigation took over four months to complete and involved undercover purchases of powder and crack cocaine in the Town of Catskill. As a result, Elijiah D. Jenkins, age 23, of Catskill, N.Y. was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (3 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (3 counts). Gregory “Rebel” Bernard, age 37, of Catskill, N.Y. was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled of a Controlled Substance 3rd and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd.

In addition, a third suspect, Odilon Serrano, age 39, of New Baltimore was arrested for Criminal Sale of a Controlled of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) after a 3 month investigation conducted by the State Police, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement(Albany Office) and the Capital District Drug Enforcement Task Force into the sale of crack cocaine in the Town of Coxsackie.

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree are both class B felonies. JENKINS and BERNARD were arraigned before Greene County Court Judge Tailleure and were committed to the Greene County Jail, JENKINS on $25,000. cash or $50,000. bond and BERNARD with no bail. SERRANO was arraigned before T/J Farrell in the Town of New Baltimore Court. SERRANO was committed to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 cash bail or $200,000.00 bond.
