Chester, NY man and woman arrested for heroin possession

Monroe, NY – On August 9, 2015 at approximately 6:40 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 17 for multiple traffic violations. Both occupants of the vehicle were interviewed and during the investigation, the female passenger stated she had heroin in her bra. Additional Troopers seized approximately 367 grams of heroin (more than 1200 decks of heroin) from within the vehicle. The following individuals were arrested:
The driver, Andrew R. Mitchell, 40, Chester, NY was charged with:
- Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Class B Felony
- Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Class B Felony
- Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Class A Misdemeanor
Mitchell was arraigned at the Town of Monroe Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail on no bail
The passenger, Ashley N. Lovelace, 25, Chester, NY was charged with:
- Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Class A Misdemeanor
Lovelace was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Monroe Court on August 26, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.
