Kingston man arrested for sexual abuse of a child

PRESS RELEASE

On August 9, 2015, the Ulster County Family and Child Advocacy Center which is comprised of member’s from the New York State Police, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Child Protective Services and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office announce the arrest of EDOVITO TIUL for Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The Ulster County Family and Child Advocacy Center and Kingston Police Department completed an investigation of sexual abuse to a 5 year old child in the City of Kingston which resulted in the arrest of TIUL, age 30, who was residing in Kingston, NY and a native from Guatemala.  The child and TIUL are known to each other.

TIUL was arrested at the SP Kingston barracks and was arraigned in front of Town of Hurley Justice John Parker who remanded TIUL to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash or $500,000 property bond.  He was ordered to return to the City of Kingston Court on August 10, 2015.  TIUL was additionally issued an order of protection preventing any contact with the victim.  the case was turned over to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit.
