County to Hold Public Hearings to Discuss
Office for the Aging Services
Poughkeepsie … Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro invites residents to share their input as the Dutchess County Office for the Aging (OFA) will hold two public hearings for seniors, loved ones and caregivers to learn about OFA programs and services, and discuss topics of importance to them.
OFA Director Todd Tancredi and members of the OFA Advisory Board will host each of the hearings, which are free and open to the public, to listen to residents’ feedback. The forums will each begin at 11 a.m. at the following locations:
- Wednesday, September 26th
Beacon Friendship Center
1 Forrestal Heights, Beacon
- Thursday, September 27th
Red Hook Senior Friendship Center
Red Hook Community Center
59 Fisk Street, Red Hook
The hearings will provide information about the services the OFA offers and how those programs can be accessed. Attendees will have the opportunity to raise issues, offer ways to improve the delivery and provision of these services, and obtain a copy of the OFA’s annual implementation plan, which summarizes program and services for 2019-20.
Those unable to attend the hearings can submit comments in advance via email at ofa@dutchessny.gov or mail them to the Dutchess County Office for the Aging, 27 High Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Copies of an abstract of the OFA’s Annual Update will also be available online for those who cannot attend the hearings.
In 2017, the OFA served more than 13,000 individual seniors, non-seniors in need of long-term care, caregivers and family members through a wide variety of community-based services, including case management, case assistance, home care, home-delivered meals and legal services, among others.
