...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy wet snow and gusty winds. Additional snow
  accumulations of 2 to 6 inches are expected. The higher totals
  will be across the Berkshires.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Vermont excluding eastern Windham
  County, the Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut,
  eastern Capital District and Taconics of east central New York
  and western Massachusetts.

* WHEN...Until 3 AM EST Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions,
  including during the evening commute. Trees, limbs, and power
  lines could fall. Winds gusting as high as 40 to 50 mph will
  cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Be prepared for
  significant reductions in visibility at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of northwestern Connecticut and east central New York,
  including the following areas, including Litchfield County. In
  east central New York, Eastern Ulster, and Dutchess Counties.

* Through Saturday morning

* A coastal low will impact the region into this evening. Rain
  will mix with snow and continue into tonight. It will be
  primarily snow at elevations greater than 1000 feet. The snow will
  be heavy at times. Total rainfall or liquid equivalent totals
  of 1 to 3 inches are possible.

* Rain will produce significant rises on streams, creeks and
  rivers. If a persistent band or bands of heavy rain develop over
  the area some minor flooding will be possible, especially along
  the Housatonic Basin and southern Litchfield County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
