Rhinebeck – Anthony F. Gentile, 37, of Rhinebeck, NY, passed away on October 6, 2016.

Anthony was born on June 13, 1979, in White Plains, NY. He graduated from Somers High School in 1997 and from Johnson & Wales University, with a degree in Criminal Justice. He married Chelsea A. Gagliardi on September 26, 2009 in Rhinebeck, NY.

Anthony joined the New York State Police on January 7, 2002, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on September 16, 2010. Anthony was posthumously appointed to the rank of Sergeant/Station Commander of Troop K in Rhinebeck, where he had been serving since 2014.

Anthony was an avid New York Yankees fan and a dedicated season ticket holder for the New York Jets.

He is survived by his wife, Chelsea; their two daughters, McKinley and Kyla all of Rhinebeck; his father James, stepmother Jane, and grandmother Mary Gentile, all of Shrub Oak; his sister Kathryn Gentile of Wappingers Falls; his aunt, Barbara and a cousin, Richard Edwards of Peekskill; his in-laws, Ralph and Cheryl Gagliardi of Rhinebeck; sisters-in-law; Brittany (Ryan) Cruickshank and their children Connor and Ellie, all of Pine Plains, and Taylor (Cody Sholtes) Gagliardi of Rhinebeck; along with numerous extended family, friends, and colleagues.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook on Monday, October 10th, 2016 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Church of the Good Shepherd, Rhinebeck, NY. The Fr. Douglas Y. Crawford will officiate. Burial will be at Rhinebeck Cemetery, Rhinebeck.

Memorial donations may be made in Anthony’s memory to the New York State Troopers Foundation- 3 Airport Park Blvd., Latham, NY 12110.
