Town of Lloyd woman arrested for Grand Larceny, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

PRESS RELEASE

08/07/15 – The New York State Police – Highland BCI announce the arrest of 38 year old, Michelle Cadena, of Highland, NY, for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D felony,Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class E felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.

Investigation conducted by the New York State Police – SP Highland BCI, revealed that Michelle Cadena had recently unlawfully taken a check from a relative and then proceeded to cash said check, which was forged and made out to Cadena for $10,000. Cadena then returned to her residence days later and placed narcotic evidence in the home of the same victim/relative and called 911 to summons law enforcement in efforts to portray that the relative was unfit and under the influence of illicit drugs while caring for a fellow juvenile relative. The investigation and additional charges are pending.

Cadena was arraigned before Judge Elia in the Town of Lloyd Court and subsequently remanded to Ulster County Jail on $25,000 Cash / $50,000 bond. Cadena is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Lloyd Court on 08/13/15 at 3pm.
