Poughkeepsie man charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated

Wappingers Falls, New York – On August 1, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Patrick J. Nielson, 26 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony.

Troopers stopped the vehicle Nielson was operating on State Route 9 for an inadequate brake lamp.   While police interviewed Nielson, they observed clues that indicated he was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Nielson was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated due to a previous DWI related conviction from 2011.

Nielson was arraigned before the Honorable Justice Kitchen and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond
