Burglary investigation leads to the arrest of three Dutchess County men

LaGrange, New York – On August 2, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Michael Spiak, 25 years old, or LaGrange, New York, for Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.On July 6, 2015, Troopers were dispatched to a LaGrange business to investigate a reported Burglary.  The victim informed police that over the Fourth of July weekend his auto-body business had been burglarized and approximately $3,000 worth of items had been stolen.An investigation revealed that Spiak had unlawfully entered the garage and removed car parts, antiques and other valuables.

Also arrested as a result of this investigation was 19-year-old Rakim R. Preyer and Matthew J. Accardi, 21 years old, both of Poughkeepsie, New York.

On July 8th, Accardi was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree after he was found to possess stolen car parts that he purchased from Spiak, knowing that the parts were stolen.  Accardi was issued an Appearance Ticket directing him to appear before the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on July 14, 2015.

Preyer was also charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree after he was found to possess stolen car parts that he purchased from Spiak, knowing that the parts were stolen.  Preyer was arrested on July 8th and issued an Appearance Ticket directing him to appear before the Town of LaGrange Court on July 21, 2015.

Spiak was issued an Appearance Ticket for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree returnable to the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on August 11th at 4:00 p.m.  He was then arraigned before the Town of LaGrange Court for Burglary 3rd Degree and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $5,000 bond.  He was directed to return to the Town of LaGrange Court on
August 4, 2015.
