Traffic stop leads to arrest of two Dutchess County residents

LaGrange, New York – On July 26, 2015, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Jennifer L. Licurse, 29 years old, of Millbrook, New York, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Class E Felony, due to a previous DWI related convictions.

Troopers stopped the vehicle Licurse was operating on State Route 82 for speeding.  While interviewing Licurse, Troopers observed clues that indicated she was impaired by drugs at the time of the stop.

Additionally, a passenger in the vehicle, James R. Roberts, 30 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree for unlawfully possessing Suboxone.

Licurse was charged with Felony Driving While Ability Impaired due to a previous DWI related conviction from 2010.  A Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Licurse and confirmed that she was impaired by drugs.

Licurse and Roberts were issued appearance tickets directing them to appear before the Town of LaGrange Court.
