Danbury man charged with felony drug possession following traffic stop

Wappinger, New York – On February 6, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Edward Flores, 20 years old, of Danbury, Connecticut, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.
Troopers stopped a vehicle traveling on Middlebush Road for an inadequate headlamp. While interviewing both the passenger and the driver, Troopers detected an odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle.
Following a thorough investigation, Flores, a passenger in the vehicle,was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree when police discovered that he was in possession of approximately 1.2 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. He also possessed marihuana.
The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Laurel R. Meyer, of Katonah, New York, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.
Flores was arraigned before the Town of Wappinger Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due to return to Wappinger Court on February 25, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.
Meyer was issued an appearance Ticket ordering her to appear before the Town of Wappinger Court on February 25, 2015.
