Windham woman arrested for possession of a forged instrument and other charges

PRESS RELEASE
On 07/17/15, The New York State Police at Catskill arrested Silvana Sherman, age 38 of Windham, N.Y. for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd, a Class D Felony, Grand Larceny 4th, a class E Felony and Scheme to Defraud 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor .
The arrest is the result of an investigation which revealed that Sherman cashed several checks at area businesses which had been drawn on a closed account in an amount totaling $1,341.02. Sherman is also accused of possessing a forged check which she also cashed at a store in Coxsackie.
Sherman was arraigned before T/J Roberg, T/Coxsackie Court and was committed to the Greene County jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash, or $50,000.00 bond.
The State Police were assisted by the Village of Coxsackie Police.
