SP Catskill – Assault arrest

On July 2, 2015 at about 11:40pm, The New York State Police and the Village of Coxsackie Police Department responded to a dispute in the parking lot of Pepper Tree Garden Apartments in the Village of Coxsackie. During the argument, it was reported that a knife was displayed and a 22 year old male was stabbed in the shoulder and abdomen. The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening wounds. As a result of the investigation, State Police arrested Islam Jenkins, age 21, of Catskill, NY,  for Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, both  class D Felonies. He was arraigned before Town Justice Fori, Town of Coxsackie Court and was committed to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $30,000.00 cash bail or $60,000.00 bond.
