Poughkeepsie, NY… Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro has directed all Dutchess County Government facility flags to be lowered to half-staff following the death of former Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance Rita Brannen.

“Rita Brannen was a devoted public servant who served the residents of Dutchess County with dedication and professionalism. Her work as Commissioner of Finance helped modernize county government operations and her influence is still felt strongly today. We extend to her family and friends our heartfelt prayers. Rita will be greatly missed,” said County Executive Molinaro.

Rita Brannen served more than 34 years in Dutchess County Government. She began her county government career in 1971 as a Senior Account Clerk Typist at the Youth Board.
