Clinton, New York – On June 14, 2015, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested James S. Larkin, 29 years old, of Clinton Corners, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony.

Troopers were dispatched to investigate a one-car auto collision that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway.  Witnesses observed the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle flee into the woods after the crash.

When the responding officers arrived on scene, they searched the wooded area around the crash site.  Larkin, the vehicle’s registered owner, was located a short distance away from the crash site by an off-duty Trooper.

Larkin was charged with Felony DWI due to a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years.

Larkin supplied police with a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.  He was arraigned before the Town of Clinton Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
