Bronx man arrested following fraud investigation

PRESS RELEASE
On June 4, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Anthony A. Veggacado, 18 years old, of the Bronx, New York, for several counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd, a class D Felony and Identity Theft 2nd Degree a class E Felony.

An investigation revealed that on February 13, 2015, Veggacado had cashed multiple counterfeit checks totaling approximately $2,800 at Chase Bank branches in the City of Peekskill and the Village of Elmsford.

Veggacado was arraigned before the Village of Elmsford Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear before the Village of Elmsford Court on 6/10/15 at 9:30 AM.

The New York State Police was assisted by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the Town of Clarkstown Police Department.
