New York City woman charged with entering Downstate Correctional Facility with contraband

PRESS RELEASE
Fishkill, New York – On May 21, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Jenny J. Balthazard, 23 years old, of Cambria Heights, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, both Class A Misdemeanors.

Troopers were dispatched to the Downstate Correctional Facility to assist the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision with the arrest of a visitor who entered the facility with synthetic Marihuana.  Balthazard was taken into custody and transported to the Wappinger barracks where she was processed on the above charges.

The New York State Police were assisted by the NYS DOCCS Office of Special Investigations.

Balthazard was issued an appearance ticket directing her to appear before the Town of Fishkill Justice Court on June 3, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
