Transforming Lives: Rebuilding Together Hudson Valley’s Mission Continues on National Rebuilding Day

Dutchess County, NY – April 27, 2024 – Rebuilding Together Hudson Valley (RTHV), a local affiliate of the leading national nonprofit organization, Rebuilding Together, will host its annual National Rebuilding Day on Saturday April 27th. With a vision to ensure safe, healthy homes and communities for everyone, RTHV works year-round to provide critical home repairs for our neighbors in need.

Approximately 75 volunteers will repair three homes needing essential critical home repairs on April 27th.  The nonprofit has been serving the Dutchess County region for over three decades and has significantly impacted thousands of our neighbors since its founding, repairing almost 1,100 Dutchess County homes. Recently, they have changed their name to reflect their expansion to include Ulster County as well. They are actively engaged, both in outreach and with projects in the works throughout both counties.

“Our efforts in Dutchess and Ulster Counties now are as important as ever, to us, our partners, and those we serve,” stated Wyeth Drummond, the Program Manager for RTHV, “We continue to develop partnerships and welcome new relationships to serve our communities together.”

Partnerships, sponsors, and volunteers are a vital component of the organization, allowing RTHV to carry out its programs and make the necessary critical repairs that so many low-income homeowners need. On this National Rebuilding Day on the 27th, nine companies and organizations are collaborating their time and skills. They serve as financial partners, in kind donors, team leads, and volunteers to support the work that RTHV does within our community.

Rebuilding Together Hudson Valley provides these services at no cost to homeowners year-round, with the support of local business sponsorships, in-kind donations, federal and local grants, and individual donations. “We are improving the physical and mental health of our neighbors, increasing their safety and sense of independence while improving their economic security and communities around them – that is what makes all the difference in the world.” Added Darcy McCourt, Executive Director of RTHV.

“We know the importance of having a safe, warm and healthy home and the huge difference it makes in the stories of our lives,” exclaimed McCourt. “Improvements and modifications that we provide allow homeowners to live safe and healthy lives.”
