Obituary, Cheryl Ann Kelly

Cheryl Ann Kelly, 59, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Danbury Hospital with her loving family by her side. Cheryl was the office manager at J&J Log & Lumber Corporation in Dover Plains for 32 years.

Born on May 19, 1964 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Anthony C. “Dempsey” Sartori, Jr. and Janet Mae (Boyd) Sartori. Cheryl was a graduate of Dover High School Class of 1982. On September 22, 1984 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains, NY she married Brian D. Kelly who survives at home.

Cheryl was a 42-year life member and the current President of the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company Auxiliary. She had served as the Auxiliary President for the last 14 years. Cheryl’s compassionate leadership and service to the J. H. Ketcham Hose Company, its Auxiliary and her kindness and generosity to the entire Dover community was an exceptional gift that all those who knew and served with her will always treasure.

In addition to her loving husband, Cheryl is survived by two sons, Aaron M. Kelly, and his wife, Michelle, of Millbrook, NY and Eric M. Kelly and his wife, Rachel, of Dover Plains. She is also survived by four brothers, David Sartori and his wife, Rebecca, of Dover Plains, Thomas Sartori and his wife, Renee, of Lakeville, CT, Robert Sartori and his companion Maggie Wilbert and Anthony Sartori and his wife, Holly, of New Milford, CT and a sister, Bonnie Howard and her husband, Richard, of Amenia, NY. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Evelyn Mae and Eloise Bea Kelly.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. The J. H. Ketcham Hose Co. Auxiliary will conduct services at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the funeral home with Rev. R. Kent Wilson officiating.
