Incarcerated individual charged after assault
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Justin T. Bumpers, age 28 of Brooklyn NY, in connection with a recent investigation by both the Law Enforcement and Corrections Divisions. Mr. Bumpers was incarcerated at the Dutchess County Jail at the time of both the incident and the arrest.
At this time Mr. Bumpers is accused of attacking and assaulting another incarcerated individual on 1/24/24. He has been charged with assault second degree (felony), and is due to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court on 2/12/24. The victim was treated for minor injuries as a result of the incident.
As with any criminal case the charge described above is merely an accusation and Mr. Bumpers is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
