Senator Rob Rolison Mourns Passing of Dutchess County Judge

Fair and impartial jurist leaves profound legacy, says Rolison

POUGHKEEPSIE – Senator Rob Rolison (39th District) today issued the following statement regarding the passing of retired Dutchess County Court Judge Gerald “Jerry” Hayes:

“I am saddened by news of Judge Jerry Hayes’s recent passing, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and colleagues. I knew Judge Hayes for many years: he was a longtime friend, informal advisor, confidante, and force in Dutchess County circles legal and legislative. His approach to the law was always one of fairness and impartial justice practiced with consummate professionalism. Judge Hayes’s legacy of public service and scholarly-yet-pragmatic treatment of our state’s pressing concerns will remain the standard for effective jurisprudence in the Hudson Valley for years to come.”
