Corrections Officers Assaulted During Alleged Escape Attempt
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Julia E. Marcinak, age 28 of Highland Falls NY, in connection with a recent investigation by both the Law Enforcement and Corrections Divisions. Ms. Marcinak was incarcerated at the Dutchess County Jail at the time of both the incident and the arrest.
At this time Ms. Marcinak is accused of assaulting two Corrections Officers while attempting to escape from custody at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital on 12/7/23. She has been charged with assault second degree, attempted assault second degree, and attempted escape first degree (all felonies). Both Corrections Officers were treated for minor injuries as a result of the incident.
As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and Ms. Marcinak is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
