State Police Hawthorne Barracks investigate Fatal Motorcycle Accident

PRESS RELEASE

On May 7, 2015 at approximately 9:50 pm, the State Police Hawthorne Barracks were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle accident involving 1 motorcycle and 3 automobiles on the Sprain Brook Pkwy Southbound in the Town of Greenburgh NY. Investigation revealed a motorcycle which was being operated by Oliver Blake, 22 years old from Manhattan NY, attempted to pass a vehicle in the right lane and while doing so struck the vehicle from behind. This caused the operator of the motorcycle to be ejected from his vehicle. The motorcycle was then involved in striking additional vehicles which were also traveling southbound.

Blake was transported to the Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla NY where he succumbed to his injuries.

This accident is still currently under investigation and The New York State Police are requesting any witnesses to contact Inv Martin, SP Hawthorne Barracks at (914) 742-6392.
