Mary M. Sheeran ( Mary M. Clum ) a Wonderful Wife, Mom, NaNa, Great NaNa,Sister, Sister-in-Law,Aunt and Friend has passed away at the age of 96.
Mary was born June 3, 1927 to her parents Fredrick J. and Margaret Clum and raised in Pawling New York with her siblings Dennis, Fredrick and Anna. It is in Pawling where she met her husband to be, James J. Sheeran. They were married at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church on November 30th 1947. They lived in various places due to Jim’s military service in the Navy. Then they settled in Staten Island New York to raise their own family of seven children ; James J. Jr., Dennis, MargaretAnne O’Donnell ( Brian ), Predeceased Son Thomas ( Valerie ), Kevin ( Annie ), Kathleen Bradley ( Thomas ) and Mary Cerullo.
Mary’s Grandfather ( Fredrick B. Clum ) and Grandmother ( Mary Anna Clum ) owned a hotel named the Amenia Inn located in Amenia, New York. As a young girl she would help her grandparents in the summer doing chores around the hotel. She loved sharing her stories and many memories of the hotel with us.
Mary had many hobbies such as gardening, knitting, reading, cooking and baking. She was the Best at all of them. Her and Jim would always make time for traveling. The family would spend their summers in Pawling, New York and Montauk, Long Island staying with family having a great time creating many memories.She loved spending time with her many gandchildren and great grandchildren, she had a heart of gold.
Mary was a very easy person to respect and love. She was a Beautiful,Loving,Caring,Understanding,Graceful person. Her love was totally Unconditional. Every morning you could find Mary praying giving thanks to God for herself and others, her prayer list was a mile long, always praying for other peoples needs. Some people would call her Saint Mary and to us she will always be Our Saint.
A private burial will take place at The Resurrection Cemetery Staten Island, New York
