1. Attached is information about the rescheduling of the mandated Early Dismissal Drill on Friday, May 22nd.
2. Attached is a copy of the 2015-2016 school calendar. This calendar is the result of many discussions among the Board of Education members, the Pawling Congress of Teachers, and the Dutchess County school superintendents.
You should note the following about the 2015-2016 district calendar:
Due to the lateness of Labor Day (September 7th), school will begin for students on Tuesday, September 2nd.
The calendar provides 185 student instructional days.
The calendar provides five (5) emergency closing days. In the event more than two (2) emergency closing days are used prior to January 15, 2016, school will be in session on Friday, February 12, 2016. The calendar currently provides a 5-day February break (Friday, February 12 through Tuesday, February 16).
The calendar limits the number of half-days for students in order to improve time for classroom instruction.
School will be closed for students on the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 25th.
The calendar maintains a 10-day March Recess period (Saturday, March 19th through Monday, March 28th).
3. Attached is information from the PTA regarding a PTA fundraising event at the Hudson Valley Renegades baseball game. An elementary school staff member will be honored at this game.
4. The PHS Varsity Dance Team will hold their 3rd Annual Spring Dance Performance on Friday, May 15th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door.
