Update: Troopers looking for the public’s help with car versus pedestrian accident

Update: On October 22, 2023, the New York State Police arrested Aida Y. Miranda, age 62, of Fishkill, for Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash, a class D felony.

Investigation determined Aida Miranda, while operating a 2019 Kia Sorrento, struck the victim on Merritt Boulevard without reporting the incident.

The crash was reported to the State Police at approximately 10:10 a.m.  The responding Trooper upon arriving began life-saving-techniques with an off-duty emergency medical technician.  The victim, Balvinder Parihar, age 72, of Fishkill, was transported by Empress EMS to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

Miranda was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Raiche of the town of Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.  Her next appearance is scheduled for November 4, 2023, at 12:00 p.m.

Fishkill, New York – On October 21, 2023, the New York State Police began investigating a car versus pedestrian accident.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Merritt Boulevard near Vanderbilt Way in the town of Fishkill a female pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle.
