Obituary, Robert Clarence Duprey

Millerton – Robert Clarence Duprey, 90, a lifelong area resident died peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Duprey was a retired dairy farmer, carpenter and handyman. He owned a dairy farm in Millerton for over 20 years and was employed at Seagull Roofing in Millerton as well.

Born July 29, 1933 in Sharon, CT he was the son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Houghtaling) Duprey. He was a graduate of Amenia High School. On October 30, 1955, in Amenia, NY he married Elinor Shaffer. Mr. and Mrs. Duprey shared nearly 68 years of marriage. Mrs. Duprey survives at home in Millerton. In his spare time Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife and he was fortunate to have visited every state in the union with the exception of Hawaii. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife and his devoted family.

In addition to his wife Elinor, Bob is survived by three children, Janet Camburn and her husband Steve of Pine Plains, NY, Daniel Duprey and his wife Eileen of Boston Corners and Diann Weaver and her husband Donald of Millerton; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by two brothers, Louis Duprey and Ray Duprey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10am to 11am at 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. A funeral service will take place at 11am. Burial will follow at Amenia Island Cemetery, 3361 Route 343, Amenia, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway # 1509, New York, NY 10018 or Community Hospice, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414 or Faith Bible Chapel of Shekomeko, 222 Silver Mountain Road, Millerton, NY 12546.
