State Police investigated a serious crash on State Route 28 in Kingston

On September 5, 2023, at approximately 6:08 p.m., State Troopers from the Kingston barracks responded to a serious crash on State Route 28 in Kingston, New York. Investigation revealed that a 2012 Toyota, operated by Steven Beckerman of Woodstock, New York was traveling west in the right lane.  A 2006 Volkswagen, operated by Steven Kapushy of Boiceville, NY was also traveling west in the right land on State Route 28. Mr. Kapushy moved over into the passing lane and was passing the Toyota when the Toyota attempted to make an unauthorized left turn when he struck the Volkswagen on the front-end passenger side.

Mr. Kapushy and his passenger were transported by ambulance to Health Alliance with non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Kapushy was treated for an injury to his left hand, right shoulder, and a neck injury. The operator of the Toyota was not injured.

Investigation is pending.
