Drug Task Force Investigation and Search Warrant Leads to Arrest of Alleged Drug Dealer
The Dutchess County Drug Task Force reports the arrest of Alonzo Newman from the City of Poughkeepsie, age 35, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell 3rd degree, a Class B Felony.
On 09/01/23 members of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit and the City of Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Recovery Unit executed a search warrant at Mr. Newman’s residence on Harrison Street related to an ongoing investigation into narcotic sales in the Poughkeepsie area. Mr. Newman was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine. Mr. Newman is being held pending arraignment in the City of Poughkeepsie Court.
