Barbara R. Dutton, 87, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her home in Dover Plains surrounded by her loving husband and family. Mrs. Dutton worked in retail sales with several local merchants ending her career at Good Tidings Gift Shop in Dover Plains.
Born on April 6, 1936 in Ossining, New York she was the daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Bigelow) Raycraft. On January 5, 1977 in Dover Plains she married Richard R. Dutton who survives at home.
Mrs. Dutton was a member of the Stone Church Grange. She was also a member of the Dover Plains United Methodist Church in Dover Plains.
In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Dutton is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Hanselman and her husband, Joseph, of Hillsdale, NY; two sons, Craig Benson and his companion, JoAnn Woodin, of Wingdale and Mark Benson and his husband, Craig Schroeter, of Putnam Valley, NY and a sister, Margaret Way of Dover Plains. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and her dog, Henry.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Dutton was predeceased by a son, Timothy Benson; a daughter, Amy Benson; three grandchildren Jonathan, Kaitlin and Gregory Peattie and a son-in-law, John Peattie. She was also predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Delmolino and two brothers, Robert and Frank Raycraft.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains.
