Obituary, Michele (Gilletti) Labombard

Michele Labombard, 67, quietly passed away at her home in Wassaic, NY on Friday, January 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Mahopac, NY on July 29, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Roseann (O’Neill) Gilletti.  Michele grew up in Pawling and attended Pawling schools, graduating from Pawling High School in 1973. She married Eugene Labombard on October 20, 1990; he survives at home.

Michele worked as a caregiver at the Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic.  She was an auxiliary member of the Dover VFW #5444, and was an avid donor to St. Jude’s and the SPCA.
Her husband Gene called her “The Queen” of flea marketing because she loved going to flea markets, tag sales, and thrift shops, always looking for that item she just had to have, and then possibly giving it away or selling, bartering or trading it on Swip-Swap

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two brothers, Joseph A. Gilletti of Palm Bay, FL and Carl E. Gilletti of Jacksonville, FL, and 5 nephews and 1 niece, Cody, Heather & Ryan and Joshua, Justin & Joseph, and many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John’s Cemetery, Pawling, NY.  A Celebration of Michele’s Life will follow.

Donations in Memory of Michele may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538 or the Dover VFW #5444, 3422 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY 12522.
