Obituary

Robin Lee Spencer, 63, recently of Verbank, NY, formerly a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at her home in Verbank surrounded by her loving family. She fought hard against pulmonary fibrosis and cancer. Born on August 13, 1959 in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Betty (Pruner) Alden.

Robin was a school bus driver for First Student for over 30 years. Robin also worked at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center and in 2019 received a degree in bariatric counseling. She loved her church family at Greater Grace Church in Dover Plains.

Robin is survived by two daughters, Cortney Spencer of Verbank and D’Arcy Spencer of Clearwater, FL; a son, David Spencer of Poughkeepsie; two brothers, Scott Alden of Lagrangeville and Tom Alden of North Carolina; a sister, Cindy Mihm of North Carolina and a former sister-in-law, Theresa Alden. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Mya Spencer, Caleb, Nathan, Kiera and Evan Dennis, Jennifer, Nina, Sofia, Marc Jr. and Noah Schvartz; a niece, Edie Alden; three nephews, Scott II, Ian and William Alden and a great-nephew, Wolfe Alden. Robin is also survived by her best friends, Tom and Lois Ross.

Cortney would like to thank Annemarie, Kamiko and Layla from Hudson Valley Hospice for their love, dedication and stellar care of Robin and her family in the last few months.

A celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Tymore Park Pavilion (behind Beekman Library), 71 Town Center Blvd., Beekman, NY.
