State Police arrest California man for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 2nd degree

On August 25, 2022, State Police arrested Jordan M. Richards, 32, of Antioch, California, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 2nd degree.

On August 23, 2022, at approximately 7:05 p.m., State Police received a report of a stolen gray Mercedes-Benz out of New York City that was traveling northbound on State Route 22 in the town of Pawling.

Troopers on patrol located the vehicle on State Route 22 in the town of Dover and a traffic stop was attempted. The vehicle failed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit traveled northbound into the town of Amenia and then northeast into Columbia County through Ancram, Copake and Hillsdale.

A stinger was released causing the vehicle to stop and Richards fled on foot, troopers were unable to locate him.

On August 24, 2022, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office received a trespassing complaint and Richards was turned over to State Police and placed into custody.

Richards was arraigned in the town of Dover Court and is due to reappear on August 30, 2022. He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
