Fiancee of missing kayaker to be charged with murder
Angelika Graswald, 35, of Poughkeepsie will be charged with the murder of her fiancee Vincent Viafore, 46, also of Poughkeepsie. Viafore went missing after the two went kayaking in the Hudson River off Plum Point in New Windsor on April 19.
There was an exhaustive search for Viafore after it was reported that his kayak overturned in the river, and that he was not wearing a flotation device. Graswald was rescued by another boater.
Police have not said whether or not Viafore’s body has been recovered. More information is expected later today.
