Obituary, Otis Casey

Otis Casey, 92, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at his daughter’s home in Dover Plains. Otis was a mechanic for the United States Postal Service for 26 years retiring in 1997.

Born on July 5, 1930 in Monson, ME, he was the son of the late Philias and Rose M. Casey. Otis proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On July 21, 1956, in North Adams, MA, he married Jennie, who predeceased him on February 21, 2009.

Otis was a 52-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was also the former Chaplain of VFW Post # 5444 in Dover Plains.

Otis is survived by a daughter, Rosie Lajszky of Dover Plains and a son, Ernest Casey and his wife, Francine, of Riverhead, NY. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Casey Rose Lajszky, of Queens, NY. He was predeceased by his parents and on August 2, 2022, his son-in-law, George Lajszky, passed away.

A celebration of life will be held for both Otis Casey and George Lajszky from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Boyce Park, 6420 State Route 55, Wingdale, NY.
