Woman ID’d in fatal head-on collision on Route 22 with Pawling Man

PATTERSON – Jean Riccobon a 63-year-old Carmel woman died in a two-car head-on collision on Route 22 when state police said a pickup truck driven by Christopher C. Osborne Jr., 42, of Pawling crossed the double-yellow lines and crashed into their Subaru Forester.

Jean Riccobon, a passenger in the Subaru, was pronounced dead at the scene by Transcare ambulance staff after the crash at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday near the Post 22 restaurant, according to state police in Brewster.

Her husband, Mario Riccobon, 65, was taken to Danbury Hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, police said. He was driving the Subaru.

The Riccobons Subaru was hit by a 2003 GMC pickup truck driven by Christopher C. Osborne Jr., 42, of Pawling who was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Osborne was driving north on Route 22 when he crossed into the southbound lane and hit the Subaru, state police said after an investigation.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash and the cause of the crash is under investigation, police said.
