State police arrested a Marbletown woman for assaulting a trooper during a DWI arrest.

On June 9, 2022, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a state trooper from the Kingston barracks observed a 2010 Saab traveling westbound on Washington Avenue on the town of Ulster in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. The trooper stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as Niccole Lignowski, age 43 from Marbletown. While speaking to Lignowski the trooper determined that she was impaired by drugs and attempted to arrest her. Lignowski resisted being arrested and became combative with the trooper including biting the trooper on the arm causing a laceration. She was eventually taken into custody. Once Lignowski was placed in the trooper’s vehicle, she began kicking the front windshield causing it to fracture. She also caused damage to the passenger front door causing more damage. A search of Lignowski and her vehicle found her to be in possession of cocaine.

Niccole Lignowski was charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Assault 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree, all felonies. She was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, DWAI Drugs, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration, all misdemeanors. She was released on an appearance ticket.
