Obituary, Beverly M. Venette

Beverly M. Venette, 80, a longtime resident of Wassaic, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2022. She was born June 26, 1941, in Northfield, Vermont. She was the daughter of Harold and Gladys Owen of Wassaic, NY who are deceased. Beverly was a cherished loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is predeceased by her loving husband George (Jack) F. Venette in 1999 and their daughter Jacki Lynn Sigler in 1992. She is also predeceased by her Aunt Minnie in 1989 and two sisters, Barbara Bagomolny in 2009 and Elaine Tompkins in 2018.

Beverly was a strong and courageous woman that raised three girls of her own as well as her granddaughter Meagan when she lost her daughter Jacki. Beverly worked in the Business Office where she was the head of an accounting department at the Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic, NY for 30 years before she retired in 2000. Beverly also volunteered her time in the office of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Amenia, NY on Sundays while her granddaughter whom she raised, Meagan attended Sunday school classes for many years. She was kind and had a magical way of making everyone around her happy. She never missed an opportunity to show her pride and love for her family especially on holidays when everyone could be together. She loved to crochet in her earlier adult years and always loved to read. Beverly was someone everyone in the family could look up to and count on when they needed support. After her retirement, Beverly lived in FL for several years before settling down in 2007 in Cleveland, TN. In 2021 she moved to Fort Drum, NY with her Granddaughter Meagan and Grandson-In Law Jerome David Riley.
She is survived by two daughters Kim Venette of Cleveland, TN, and Dawn Conley of Etowah, TN. Three Grandchildren Meagan Riley of Fort Drum, NY, Justin Venette of Spring Hill, FL, and Deanna Yando of Tupper Lake, NY. Grandson-in law Jerome David Riley of Fort Drum, NY and also Two Great-Grandsons Jordan James Snyder and Jayce Venette of Spring Hill, FL. Two sisters, Jean Clinton of Amenia, NY and Mary Graybill and her husband Lloyd of Ocala, FL.

Graveside services and burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Amenia, NY will be private. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Beverly’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2649 South Rd Suite 101, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
