Eddyville man arrested for Scheme to Defraud

PRESS RELEASE

On Monday April 27, 2014 the New York State Police at Kingston arrested Gilson C DaSilva, 55 years old, of Lake View Terrace Eddyville, New York for Scheme to Defraud and other charges, all misdemeanors.

After a joint investigation with the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Investigators, Gilson DaSilva was arrested for 1 count of Scheme to Defraud, a criminal charge, and 3 counts of Altering Mileage Registering Devices under the General Business law. The investigation had determined that over the past 2 years, DaSilva has purchased and sold a least 3 motor vehicles having significantly lower mileage readings when he sold them than when he purchased them. DaSilva voluntarily surrendered himself at the State Police Barracks today with his attorney to answer the charges.

DaSilva was processed released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Ulster Court on Wednesday Aril 29, 2015 at 2:00pm.
