Obituary, June Stufano

June Stufano, 79, a long-time Pawling resident, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at her Pawling home.

June was born in Burnley, England on October 12, 1942 , the daughter of James and Nellie (Stubbs) Duckworth.  She came to the United States as a “British Nanny” in 1963 where she met and married Gaetano Stufano on June 1, 1966.  They settled in Pawling in 1967 where they raised their 5 children.  June had a small day care prior to starting her career as a head custodian for the Pawling Elementary School.  For 23 years, she was devoted to her school, the staff, and the children.

She loved visiting her dear sister, Lilian and family in England.  She also loved reading and all creatures, great and small. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her granddaughter, Cassidy, enjoying a game, a puzzle, or just a good cup of tea.

She is predeceased by her husband Guy who passed away in August 2008 and her sister, Lilian Stacey, who passed away in December 2014.

She is survived by her four sons, Frank, Guy Jr and his wife Yvonne, Kevin, and Michael, her daughter Tracey, her brother Anthony Duckworth and his wife Kim, and her three grandchildren, Cassidy, Nicholas, and Francesca.

There are no services at this time.

Donations in Memory of June may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or any animal shelter.
