North Salem, New York – On February 12, 2022, the New York State Police from the Somers barracks began investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on Titicus Road in the town of North Salem.

Initial investigation determined Edward J. Carroll III, age 70, of Old Greenwich, CT, was operating a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Titicus Road approximately a third of a mile east of Oakridge Road.  At approximately 2:30 p.m. he entered the westbound lane for unknown reasons, and struck a westbound 2007 BMW SUV head-on.

Mr. Carroll was pronounced deceased on scene by responding Westchester Paramedics.

This investigation remains ongoing.  The Westchester Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
