Obituary, David C. Elwell

David C. Elwell, 51, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Dover, NY.

A life-long resident resident of Pawling, he was born in New Milford, CT on November 11, 1970, one of two children born to the late Charles D. Elwell and Linda (Voorhees) (Elwell) Judson, also of Pawling.

David loved to hunt and fish, and was a serious history buff, especially of the Civil War and Native American history.  He also loved watching and playing Jeopardy.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Mason James Elwell of Yorktowne Heights; his sister, Kerrianne Wendover and husband Dave of LaGrangeville; his former wife, Courtney (VanDerlyn) Elwell of Yorktowne Heights; his cousins Paul and Michael Voorhees, both of Wassaic, Herbert & Kathy VanAnden of West Coxsackie, NY, Roger & Debbie VanAnden of Landis, NC, and Patricia (VanAnden) Wade of Tennessee; his uncle Robert Elwell and wife Mary of Hyde Park; and many, many friends.

In addition to his father, he is predeceased by his uncle, Preston Voorhees and his grandparents Claude & Pauline Voorhees and Edward & Margaret Elwell, all of Pawling.

There are no services at this time, but a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
