On November 6, 2021, at around 8:00 am, State Police were called to 5902 State Route 22 in the village of Millerton for a house fire.

When Troopers arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and told there were possibly two people still inside.

An investigation revealed seven people were staying in the home. Two people had left the home prior to the fire and three were able to get out of the home before local fire departments arrived on scene.

After the fire was put out, two residents were found deceased inside the home.

The victims have been identified as Jenny Yang, 24, and Wangdi Tamang, 30.

One of the residents who escaped, Amy Yang, 51, was taken to Sharon Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
