Bronx Woman Charged With Criminal Contempt

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Bronx woman on a felony charge of criminal contempt.

On April 12, 2015, a felony charge of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree was lodged against Tanya Marinelli, 39, of The Bronx as a result of Ms. Marinelli allegedly having violated an order of protection held against her by an unidentified victim. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Ms. Marinelli by the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.

On April 16, 2015, Investigators Thomas Corless and John Alfano received information that Ms. Marinelli would be making a scheduled appearance in the Putnam County Family Court. At approximately 9:10 a.m. on that date, Ms. Marinelli was arrested by the investigators as she arrived at court. She was arraigned in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500.00 cash bail pending a future court appearance.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to four years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
