Lamont Marcel “Monty” LaRobardier, Jr., 69, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. LaRobardier owned and operated LaRobardier Contract and Design.
Born on July 9, 1951 in Montclair, NJ he was the son of Genevieve (Krause) LaRobardier of Keswick, VA and the late Lamont Marcel LaRobardier, Sr. On June 24, 1995 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he married Josephine Ann “JoAnn” Lopane of East Nassau, NY formerly a longtime resident of Dover Plains.
Mr. LaRobardier was a former member of the Chestnut Ridge Rod & Gun Club. He was also a parishioner and former organist at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.
In addition to his loving wife, Mr. LaRobardier is survived by three sons, Jason LaRobardier and his companion, Jamie Lammering of St. Croix, Michael LaRobardier of Johnston, RI and Ryan Smith and his wife, Christen, of Stephentown, NY and a daughter, Amanda Lee Smith and her husband, Nathan Fixler, of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by a brother, Allan LaRobardier of South Carolina; three sisters, Suzanne LaRobardier of New Jersey, Genevieve Snyder of Burt, NY and Bernadette Marie LaRobardier of Keswick, VA; three grandchildren, Ethan LaRobardier and Ryder and Hayden Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill Street, Dover Plains. Burial will be private.
