The Pawling Free Library Centennial Year Celebration Kicks Off in May!

As our library prepares for its much-anticipated centennial celebration this year, we will take you back in time as we celebrate our one-hundred years of evolution and growth.
The fun will begin with the introduction of our free, commemorative centennial library card- so look for it just after the new year. A special exhibit of Library history (our History Corner) will be available in the library’s main building throughout the centennial year.
In May, 2021, almost 100 years to the day when our Charter was granted by New York State, our Centennial year activities will officially kick off with a free, outdoor New Orleans jazz concert on the Green. Festivities will culminate one year later on May 21, 2022, with our Great Gatsby themed Gala! We promise it will inspire and delight with fabulous entertainment, great food, amazing auction items and prizes, as we raise funds for our new Children’s Wing! (Yes! Finally, we will build the space we need to accommodate our growing cadre of littlest patrons!)
Look for monthly, engaging programs, made possible through a generous grant from the Oliver S. and Jennie R. Donaldson Charitable Trust. Join us for Charleston lessons and a flash mob of flappers on the Green, or, in partnership with Pawling Recreation, Horror Movies of the 1920’s, providing spooky fun for the whole family. We’ll have a Wizard of Oz end of summer, family block party! Does a Pawling History and 1920’s trivia night spark your interest? What about a signature cocktail offered throughout the year at your favorite Pawling watering hole, proceeds from which will help support our fundraising efforts? The Pawling Library Centennial promises to be a memorable fun-filled year for the whole community!
